Watercolour. Home. 2011
This watercolour shows a beautiful sunset near to my home in Rossendale. I am fascinated with the ever-changing light on this particular piece of landscape. You can still see remnants of the ridge and furrow, ancient field boundaries and an old animal enclosure ( pinfold ).

Acrylic. Jim Cropper And Seamus. 2011.

This acrylic painting shows the legendary Sheep dog trainer Jim Cropper with Seamus. Jim is a native of Rossendale and this painting shows him on Deerplay hill near to his home. Jim was pleased with the picture and thanked me for it. Jim has won one man and his dog as the brace champion and is a local and national hero.

This painting shows the beautiful evening light closing in on a winter’s day. The location is a local coppice where myself and Bill often walk.

Watercolour. 13 Canada Geese Wintering In Loveclough. 2011.

This painting records the movement of flocks of Canada geese that in winter time regularly stop off in these fields to feed. There are sometimes many more than the thirteen shown here. Occasionally some are taken by foxes and I can see that there is a definite natural cycle occurring here. It is amazing that the people who consider developing this land will never fully understand its vitally important interconnected role supporting countless insects, plants and animals.
