Acrylic on canvas. Old Pendle, Majestic Sublime With Billy A True Friend of Mine. 2010. This painting shows my border collie Bill sitting in quiet contemplation next to the scout tower on Pendle Hill. I created this to keep as a memory of my best friend. |
Acylic on Board. The Church Cat. 2011 This painting was totally inspired by Mosignor John Chaloner the talented parish priest at St Huberts Church, Dunsop Bridge. Father John is a modern day Saint Francis and he has used his love of animals ( especially cats ) to write several amazing books. The books are actually dictated by the cats and Father John acted as scripe and illustrator. The books have a spirtual message, are very funny and in my opinion are well worth a read. This painting shows the present church cat George reclining in a fruit bowl. |

This acrylic painting shows Zen asleep on a pair of walking boots after a good days hike. |
In 2009 I visited Sean Ellis and his partner Helen in Devon. If you watched the recent documentary you will know all about their work trying to protect the wolves. I made this small acrylic to record the visit and to capture Sean’s unique way of working with the animals. |

Zante Cat is a watercolour painted on the Greek Island of Zante during a short break there in 2007.

Bowland Stag. Medium: Pencil. One of my favorite animals is the deer. I feel that stags in particular have a special majesty and power. They are truly the kings of the forest. |
|
Bramble This is a small watercolour of a Spaniel dog. I find the breed really friendly and nice mostly and they were some of the first dogs that I really came into contact with as a teenager. |
Gentle Doe In American Indian folk lore the deer means gentle. I think this pencil sketch captures some of that character in these amazing animals. |
