Dutton Hall My great grandfather used to own this impressive Old Lancashire Hall and my grandmother was actually born in the top middle room! It was originally built by one of the Townley family the main line being from Townley Hall Burnley. I felt it important to record this old house along with my connection to it. |
Whalley Abbey Gatehouse The North West Gatehouse, Whalley Abbey. Medium. Pen and Ink. Around
the time this was painted I would pass through the gateway perhaps twice
a day often at night. It is such a lovely structure I decided to record
it. I wanted to show the amazing vaulted ceiling. |

Mytton Cross This pen drawing records a carved medieval depiction of the crucifixion.
The stone in question resides in a local church which the famous artist
Turner once visited. |
Pendle Pool This pool was discovered on a stream bed on Pendle Hill. It looks man made but I think it is natural and perhaps was utilised by people to wash clothes in it. |

Read Gates "Ornate Gateposts" Medium. Pen and Ink. I would pass these landmarks on a favourite circular walk and I found the decoration very intriguing. I think it looks quite magical like a hidden code. |
The Removal Of The Old Iron Bridge, Billington One day as youngster I was trying to fish from the old Victorian Iron
Bridge when I met a boy who would from that day become one of my best
friends. It was a sad day therefore when they removed the old bridge.
I gave this picture to that same friend some years later. Peter Ormiston
and other local men removed the bridge in the late 1990s. |
