Richard has been painting and drawing all of his life, he combines his love of the countryside, his Lancashire heritage and his spiritual connection with the landscape to help him to create his beautiful artwork.. Richard is a keen hill walker and often spends many hours amongst the windswept Lancashire countryside exploring the environment which surrounds him. Richard says "Life is a journey of discovery, we must discover the world around us and then our inner world is further discovered, it is then hoped that by this process we can enhance a beauty of both". Richard is a keen historian and conservationist who feels that it is far better to try and live in balance with the landscape and to respect your local heritage than to try and dominate or change it.. It is through his art that Richard continues this legacy of highlighting Lancashire's natural beauty and his love for it.
